Since Chat GPT burst onto the technological scene, there has been much talk about this tool, which allows for answering various questions using Artificial Intelligence.
Free of charge and with open access for anyone who wishes to use it, Chat GPT is a language model that mimics human writing and provides responses in a matter of seconds on a wide range of topics. This technology has come to revolutionize different fields, such as the education sector, news writing, businesses, and even web programming. However, there is still skepticism about its application and concerns about the limits of how far AI can go, fearing that it may replace human work.
Chat GPT has experienced exponential growth in a short period of time: it achieved in a span of a week what took Netflix more than three years or Twitter in 24 months. For this reason, tech giants like Google have paid attention to this tool (developed by OpenAI, founded by Elon Musk) to test its competitiveness.
However, unlike the classic Google search engine, Chat GPT generates an automatic response based on the information it gathers. The dilemma is: Does Chat GPT monopolize information? Does it generate a single response?

Unlike a traditional internet search engine, where different results are positioned on the first page, in a system like Chat GPT, you enter a specific query and receive a written paragraph with a single result. The more precise the question, the longer and more informative the response will be. However, the user doesn't have the ability to choose the source of information.
For this reason, it is considered that as Artificial Intelligence tools advance (and become more integrated into internet search engines), the search bar may cease to exist as a reality, making way for simply having a conversation with a machine.
Chat GPT users choose to rely on a chatbot to solve everyday life situations, study, work, or simply acquire knowledge. However, unlike the search engines we have used so far, each search yields a single result, so there are no other opinions to contrast.
In this sense, when using Chat GPT, there is no plurality of voices, no specification of the information source, no authoritative citations. It doesn't clarify who the authors are, nor does it provide bibliographic information or precise references. Another not very favorable aspect of Chat GPT is that the information from which the responses are generated is updated until 2021, so many recent informational data may not be available or could be inaccurate.
Beyond its positive aspects and the application it can have in various areas, Chat GPT chooses what it wants to show and what it wants to hide. This means that, despite the many conveniences it offers, it is still not entirely reliable.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for this tool, which is still in its infancy, although its direction and growth are currently booming.

Just as in previous articles, we have highlighted the great opportunities provided by Chat GPT, in this case, we chose to analyze the other side. In this regard, while we acknowledge its purpose and the benefits it brings in different aspects, we also indicate that its use is a contribution to certain processes, but it does not lack shortcomings: relying on a single voice without the support of human reasoning can be problematic. The important thing is to know in which aspects it serves to increase the productivity of certain activities and when it is better to rely on other sources of information.
