This is the success story of GBD, a family business dedicated to the production of graphic pieces located in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, which worked with Drew to stabilize its business and give it a long-term vision.

The Cordoban company contacted us to start a project aimed at optimizing its production strategy as well as its internal organization. Below, GBD owners Gabriel and Laura tell us about their experience working with Drew.

Initial situation

The company has an up-to-date machinery park of very good quality, it is oriented towards customer satisfaction and it is located in a strategic point of the city. When they approached us, they had difficulties regarding administrative and financial issues such as the profitability of the products, the cost structure, they did not have an organized sales plan and they did not know their break-even point. All the tasks were carried out manually and they wasted time carrying out these tasks in an inefficient way.

How we helped

After a series of meetings, where we were able to learn about how the company worked, the infrastructure it had and the difficulties it was going through; from Drew, we presented a work plan based on the objectives that they wanted to achieve and we worked together with its owners on what would be the action plan to achieve them.

The plan consisted of three parts:

  • Defining the strategy.
Establish a goal for the end of the year as well as the mechanisms at the departmental level necessary to meet that goal. Dates and deadlines were determined for each activity in order to later evaluate the results.

  • Administrative order.
Generate an income statement where the total profitability of the business can be detailed, as well as that of each product separately, thus determining the break-even point to simulate operation expansion scenarios with these data.

  • Management monitoring.
Through work boards, materialize everything proposed in order to measure and control it.

The project had a total duration of 6 months, in which the work to be carried out was coordinated through weekly meetings.

Results

After some time working together and before the pre-established deadline, we were able to reach the desired objectives. Administrative activities were organized and a software tool was implemented to make it possible to professionalize the business. In the words of its owner, Gabriel, "we went from being a kiosk to a supermarket."

Drew's accompaniment in all the processes, added to the training in the use of the tools, allowed the company to learn how to manage itself in an orderly manner, achieving enough stability to plan an organized growth.
