This is the success story of Fermag, a company based in Córdoba, Argentina. It is a company with 14 employees which was born in 1995. Its actions belong to two areas: home automation and implementation of technological systems for intelligent buildings (BMS), also dedicating itself to electrical installations and weak signal systems. Its mission consists of the use of technology to care for the environment.
Fermag turned to Drew for the implementation of a system that organizes its tasks, as well as for finding the key variables to make more accurate decisions, based on data, and thus, minimize the margin of error.
At Fermag, in 2020, the volume of work was reduced as a result of the pandemic: the work to which they were accustomed was on the decline, so the dynamics were modified.
As a result of this situation, the Fermag board of directors decided to carry out an analysis of the situation in which the company found itself. One of the tools they used was the SWOT matrix which allowed them to detect Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats they faced. Among their weaknesses, they discovered the lack of tools to organize their work system.
Fermag found itself in a scenario within which there was a high degree of disparity in the company, at the work process level as well as the tools with which they were managed.
After some time of what meant the most critical situation of the pandemic for many companies, Fermag saw its volume of work expand, which affected the structure of the organization, especially in terms of project progress monitoring, task status, and business activities; as well as the monitoring of business opportunities and measurement of profitability for each project.
From their point of view, at Fermag they concluded that the work structure they had up to now did not allow the scalability of the business, being limited to human capacity.
Considering this scenario, they took as a solution the implementation of software to manage tools and mitigate their problems. Until now, their spreadsheets were registered in Excel workbooks, and communications were made via email and WhatsApp, so the software could be the best way to automate these processes.
After studying and analyzing options, they found Drew. When the company came to us, after meetings where we surveyed and diagnosed the current situation, we were able to identify that they needed more than software, since it would be the consequence of a properly structured process.
When we started the collaborative work with Fermag, we delved into what was needed: we got involved in each area and each sector to know their daily development.
After successive meetings, we were able to learn about their most urgent needs and understand where they wanted to go as a company. Together we designed a work plan, which, in the first instance, consisted of a survey of the core business processes and the main active projects that the company had. Then, we worked on the development of the process structure and the selection of software.
Continuing with the work, the implementation of indicators and monitoring of performance was carried out, followed by the application of processes and onboarding of the respective selected software.
The duration of the entire project was estimated at 9 months, with weekly meetings, accompanying at all times during the implementation of each tool.
After months of working together, we were able to reach the goals that we originally set for the company. Working with us allowed Fermag to organize itself efficiently, in addition to achieving a productivity improvement, which was reflected in working hours, the general organization of tasks, and the logistics area (both labor and materials).
At Fermag, they coincide that Drew's commitment was very important thanks to its constant accompaniment and the ability to understand their needs. In addition, they say the ability to work together to form collaborative actions was incredible.
At Drew, our goal as a company is clear: to help other companies get where they need to go.
“I would recommend it not only to solve a specific problem but also because of the way they get involved and the human quality of their staff”
